I Went to Washington!

Sunday, May 8, 2011

We made it to Washington DC today.  We saw a lot of sites and Mom's trigger finger is in a splint (only kidding)!  Our first stop was the Capitol...
Me and Mom - Dad took this one
he must have been on a side hill.......

The Washington Monument - Mom
must have been on a side hill too...
 We saw the Washington Monument....

Then we went to Arlington National Cemetary - Mom took a TON of pictures here while Dad and I waited in the truck - Dad tweeked his ankle again and had a hard time walking!  Mom literly "ran" through the cemetary taking pictures...

JF Kennedy's Gravesite - Jackie and two children are here too

Mom got here just in time for the
changing of the guard - this guard
is leaving

Guarding the tomb of the Unknown

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

So many have sacraficed so much.

Mom also saw where Robert and Ted Kennedy were burried.  Mom said it was very moving - so may people have made the ultimate sacrafice for our freedom.  She was a little upset when she got back to the truck because of (in her opinion) how disrespectful some people were.  (People were on their cell phones, people were talking loud, people were pushing in front of her to take pictures (German lady on a tour) and not waiting like everybody else, and some of the graphic t-shirts worn by some people were not appropriate.)  Mom said some people don't have the sence God gave a goose!

We also saw a lot of other monuments - Lincoln and Jefferson - but we didn't walk up to them.  Dad said they will do that when they go on the bus tour.

National Cathedral......

A quick glimps of where Bo lives...

And I bet you've never seen this in Washington, DC!!
WHEW!!!  What a day.  Tomorrow I have to go for an evaluation at a new doggie day care place - I'm not nervous or anything - I've passed these all over the place!  Mom and Dad are going to Dean Heller's office to get tickets to the galleries and stuff.
