The River Valley Scenic Drive

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Our drive today went through the orchards and farm land along the River Valley Scenic Drive.  More green rolling hills along the Long Reach and Bale Belleisle Bay.  We found out that the flower we have been seeing is a lupin even tho they are pink and yellow to almost white - Mom and Dad thought that lupin were always purple (or bluish).  The sun came out today for a while and it was really nice and warm.

We only took one ferry.  They are free, but I'm not too sure if Mom felt all that safe - she looked at Dad and said she hoped the cable would hold and not snap - otherwise we would end up out in the Bay of Fundy!

Sign before getting on the ferry!

The "cable" that keeps the ferry on track!

Here comes our ride across the river!

One of many lighthouses along the river - very short
compared to the ones we have seen in the states.

After our drive, Mom and Dad stopped at the store for some more sticker shock - prices are one and a half to two times higher here.  Mom said if the gas prices don't get to us, the food prices will.  Maybe Mom and Dad will eat less!!  (That's OK as long as I get my normal ration!)

Tomorrow we are moving farther up the coast to Fundy National Park.  They are supposed to have some really cool rocks to take photos of when the tide goes out - hope Mom can get them on the blog for you.....

We have good internet service here and cell service sucks in the park, but when we drive out of our campsite, the siginal comes back up.  We bought a month of a different plan so we have service in Canada.
