We took a little ride to the North side of the island today to check it out. It is very scenic - VERY green fields - VERY red dirt - beautiful rolling hills of farm land with cows, sheep, lamas, horses and donkeys. Dad stopped at the "Cheese Lady's" shop and bought some home made Gouda - boy was that ever good! They won't let me on the beaches here, so I didn't get to get my tummy sandy and wet (poo!).
Of course there are a lot of little fishing villages - they do lobster and clams here. Dad likes to drive down by the docks and see what is going on.
As we were driving along, we saw a red fox (again), but this one wasn't as quick as the last two - we got his picture as he crossed in front of us! Dad said he was a distant cousin of mine - I'm not so sure - he sure was a lot taller than me - and furrier too!
Green fields, red dirt and cows grazing |
This is one of the typical light houses - they are much smaller than the ones we saw in the US |
This is where Dad bought his (our) cheese-he got regular Gouda and herb garlic |
One of the many fishing villages we saw |
Not so quick like a fox |
Dad got this shot when the fox realized that he was trapped between the road and a wire fence - nice shot! |
Mom said that tomorrow is going to be a special day - it's Father's Day and Dads Birthday - Mom said there is a 5 and a 7 this year in Dad's birthday, but I don't know what order they go in because numbers don't mean anything to me! So, does that mean the 5 or the 7 come first?
57 or 75?
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
&
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
(ON SUNDAY THAT IS!)
We also want to wish all those other Fathers a Happy Day tomorrow, too.
